Drive up, pick up, go! It’s pretty simple. In fact opening a crate to take just one or two out takes longer than grabbing an entire crate. Sadly to do the most economic damage taking the crate is more of a loss than taking the birds. Example; one crate cost $60-$90, while each bird is worth $3 max and a crate holds 10 to 15 birds. Simple math, take the entire crate full of birds. Win, win for liberation; loss, loss for the exploiters. #kaporos #kapparot #kaparot #religion #brooklyn #vegan #nyc
Bunday
Happy #bunday to all. With school and training, plus the daily chores, I don’t get to post as much as I once did. Thanks to everyone sticking around and to the new folks joining us.

Barn Construction
Few will appreciate these photos, so I’ll spare the details. Heres to six years of hard work. Thanks to @hardcore_animal_rescue and @wizardmetal Dark Mountain Sanctuary, Honored to be Black Mountains third animal sanctuary.

I Can’t Forget
The non human animal will only defend. The human animal will do all in its power to control, exploit and dictate the lives of others. On this day which so many people use to place blame based on the dirt where someone was born; we should look at ourselves and realize the problem is humanity.
Roly Poly Update

Better late than never with an update on RolyPoly. She had her tail removed which was damaged from being hit by a truck. Her bodily functions are slowly gaining strength and becoming normal.
Tongue Out Tuesday

Tongue out Tuesday from the smallest of the herd.
kaporos
These kids are a year old! Taken from the streets of Brooklyn during the kaporos rituals. Now they live happily @roostersanctuary
Amazonia

There’s a small group of people who live at the edge of the Amazonia within Ecuador. They occasionally go into Quito and rescue street dogs who are sick or have been neglected. The dogs and people live mutually from the abundance that the Amazonia provides for them. These people live simply and live to care for animals.
Their home is currently in dire danger. The animals they care for are in need of new homes, just as the people are.
Imagine living your life simply, off the land, with no worries of debt, desires, or “civilized” needs and order. While few, there are still people in this world who exist outside of the social construct of civilization. These people need our help not through donation or volunteering, but through us awakening and ultimately helping ourselves.
Photo taken by me in the late summer of 2011. This day we were able to capture and care for over 30 malnourished dogs in less than an hour.
Roly Poly Update
Currently having to amputate Roly Poly’s tail. Appears it was broken or nerve damage from her trauma. Having her spay while she is under. Feline Fix before Five! If you want to help us continue our efforts, consider volunteering, donating or sharing.
Rattle
If you have an ethical sanctuary you have mice, or rats. If you have mice or rats you have snakes. It’s good to be prepared by knowing how to identify, capture, and release without doing harm. @roostersanctuary and I caught this little one and drove down the road for a safe release.
